 About the artist






 * He was born in Nineveh Governorate, Iraq in 1971 and obtained a law degree from the University of Mosul in 1994. He worked as a lawyer for a period of time, then devoted himself to practicing calligraphy and is currently working at the University of Mosul.


 * He obtained a license in calligraphy from the revered Professor Youssef Thanoun Al-Mawsili in 1421 AH.  And from the able professor Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al-Arbili in 1433 AH.


 * Participated in many exhibitions, festivals, and international and national competitions, achieving good results and successes, and winning many international awards, including the first Burda Award in Abu Dhabi, the first Al Baraka Bank Award and the IRCICA Award in Istanbul, the Baghdad International Festival Award, the Sharjah Forum Award in the Original Direction, the Excellence Award  At the Ramadan Forum for the first line of the Qur’an in Dubai, the International Okaz Award, the Muslim Youth Award, and the Dar Al Salam Festival Award.


 * Participated in many exhibitions, including: Dubai International Exhibition of Arabic Calligraphy, Qatar Qur’an Writing Competition, Ataa Al-Qalam Exhibition in Abu Dhabi, Al-Mashaq Exhibition and the Patches and Signatures Exhibition in Dubai, Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah Forum for the most famous calligraphers of the first Noble Qur’an, Al-Baraka Turk Bank exhibitions in many countries  IRSICA exhibitions in various countries of the world.  He participated in the Kuwait International Forum for Islamic Arts.  Algeria Cultural Festival for Calligraphy Art, Erbil Festival for Calligraphy Art 1 and 2, Exhibitions of the Iraqi Cultural Center for Calligraphy Art,


 * His works are owned by private collections, museums and many international institutions.


 * Selected as a member of the arbitration committees in many competitions and exhibitions.


 * He was honored by many international and local personalities and institutions in recognition of his efforts in the art of calligraphy.


 * He taught calligraphy at the Institute of Fine Arts in Mosul and is teaching it now to fans and lovers of this art.


 * His writings adorned many mosques and buildings in Iraq, including Hazrat al-Qadiriyya, Sheikh Ma’ruf al-Karkhi Mosque, Sayyid Sultan Ali Mosque, al-Ramadi Grand Mosque, al-Razzaq Mosque in Samarra, al-Hillah Great Mosque, and others. It was executed with different materials and forms.
