He is one of the most famous calligraphers, painters and poets in Iran. He was born in the city of Herat. He was called the cook because he worked on his father's painting in his youth.
The sources record him as a student at Kafr al-Tabrizi in the sitting pens. He started his primary education in Herat and then completed it in Baghdad.
Abdullah Tabbah is considered one of the followers of Yaqut in the Thuluth and Naskh calligraphy in Iran and one of the calligraphers in this style. He was also a skilled craftsman in lighting and making muraka. Archived in the Gâzürgah region and in Mashhad. His famous Qur’an in Thuluth and Naskh script was published in Iran in 2016.
He died in Herat in the year 880 AH. Hafez Sur, Mahmoud Kateb, and Abdullah Marwarid are among his students.
