The 12th International Al-Safir Competition for Arabic Calligraphy kicks off

The Municipality of the Great Mosque of Kufa and its attached shrines launched the 12th International Ambassador competition for Arabic calligraphy, announcing the receipt of entries until 12/31/2022. And take the city of Kufa as the capital of the Islamic world.
Through this competition, the secretariat aims to show the role of Kufa in rooting Islamic culture and consolidating awareness of the importance of Arabic calligraphy as a manifestation of sophistication and creativity, and emphasizing the close link between the art of Arabic calligraphy and Islam.
The competition, in its twelfth edition, which is concerned with the hadiths and commandments of Imam Hussein bin Ali (peace be upon them), includes six types of fonts (the leafy Kufic script - the muhaqqaq script - the Naskh script - the clear Diwani script - the commentary script (Persian) - the patch script). On the originality of the art of Arabic calligraphy, on the flow of pen movement, accuracy and cleanliness, maintaining the linguistic integrity of the text, and adhering to the conditions of the competition.
