Subdued paper is paper on which natural materials have been added to make it more helpful for writing and to modify letters by adding and deleting them, as well as to make it last for a long time. Among these materials are starch, alum, and egg white

Many people wonder, what are the benefits of fine glossy paper, why do you need to treat the paper in this way to write on it, and it works best when using or treating paper for drawing. Many questions are on the minds of many people, and I hope experts will add the information and observations they have. I'm not here to explain the unlocking process itself, but to show what's going on in this article

Paper Tensile: Paper is a paper body made of fine fibers interwoven together. When these fibers are exposed to water, they swell. If you put a drop of water on the paper, the wet part will swell. Even if the paper is dry, it will be difficult to return this part to its original state. The greater this stretch of the paper, the lighter the paper will be and the more ink or watercolors will be applied to the surface of the paper. The gentle process allows all paper fibers to stretch better in proportion, making the paper easier to compress. Of course, the traditional pressing process is very time-consuming. The best and quickest way to draw paper is the method watercolorists use. Summarize the process by immersing the entire paper in water for up to a quarter of an hour. Of course, the time depends on the thickness of the paper. Light paper cannot stand for long periods in water. Then lay the paper on the board, line the edges of the paper, and let it dry. This process keeps the paper flat when applying watercolors to the paper, and the paper does not swell from the water

The proportion of starch in the water is 1 cup of water, 7 cups of starch water, put cold water, stir well, then put it on a small fire, stir well until it reaches the consistency of certain honey, then cover and leave. It is cold. The process of drawing paper begins with starch. The drawing paper is dried vertically, then dried horizontally. This is called face 1.

The second phase

Put the egg whites with an alum stone and stir them well until they reach the foam. After filtering the foam, the paper is coated like what happened with starch.

Three sides: the face should be left to dry, then the next face, lengthwise and then crosswise

polishing stage

It is better to use polished gemstones

Like onyx or jade, if you don't have one, you can use marble or glass balls for the polishing process, and use sandpaper to smooth the paper so that the starch and whites interfere with the pores. The paper becomes soft
