Al Baraka International Competition 2020

Clarification

Calligraphy is an area where Islamic sensibility and aesthetics meet in a golden ratio. Like most Islamic arts, calligraphy is passed on to future generations through teacher-apprentice relationships. In the sense of the profession of "those who write beautiful scriptures", calligraphy is learned by agreement with a teacher; It begins with a single letter and ends with a license granted. Throughout history, writing the Qur'an has been the common handwriting of Muslim societies. The Ottomans, one of the civilizations that contributed most to the development and beautification of this article, made beautiful writing art in itself. The Qur’an was revealed in the Hijaz, read in Egypt, and written in Istanbul. This is a great design that expresses that fact. However

Today it must remain the order of the day to save lives and improve our traditional arts such as calligraphy. As a blessing, we have done a lot of work to ensure the continuity of this outstanding art, and to help pass it on to future generations without deteriorating and increasing interest in our traditional art. Through Al Baraka International Calligraphy Competitions, we have made a modest contribution to the art of calligraphy and gained the value it deserves since 2005. Our goal; Support volunteer calligraphy veterans, extract more of this unique art from the hands of new calligraphers and pass on sacred texts designed by artists to future generations. We like to continue our support of calligraphy and our traditional heritage with great design whenever we can
